After graduating from the Word of Life Bible Institute in Mexico, David and Dawnell Garcia settled in the city of Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico and served with a local church for a few years. Soon God burdened them with a passion to plant healthy churches in Mexico, Latin America, and the world. Considering it important to be a light to all generations, the Garcia´s specifically wanted to focus on raising up the younger generation as laborers for the harvest. In collaboration with the First Baptist Church of Corregidora in Queretaro, Lampei Church was planted in January 2019 in the city of Morelia. In January 2022, missionary Alan Peña and his wife planted Lampei Church in Chile. In May of 2022 Armando and Christina Peña joined Lampei as ministry collaborators and future church planting missionaries. Compelled by the vision of Pastor David Garcia and Lampei Church, Pastor Michael Carrel, from Pownal, VT, established Lampei International Ministries in July 2023 to help support the work in Latin America. Lampei International Ministries exists to reach the nations with the light of the Gospel through church planting, leadership development, and education.
